About
Behar-Fingal is a full-service advertising and communications firm specializing in integrated print, electronic and interactive communications. The principals have more than 40 years combined experience in creating and implementing strategic marketing communications and brand identity programs.
We pride ourselves on providing cost-effective solutions via a talent-on-demand strategy. For each project we assemble and manage the right group of talented individuals. This allows us to quickly and seamlessly scale our staff to the demands of multiple projects while providing fresh, powerful, creative solutions for our clients. We believe this strategy gives our clients the biggest bang for their marketing budgets.
Because we are a smaller firm, the principals are intimately involved with all of our accounts. This gives you direct access to our leadership team and lets you take advantage of their knowledge, professional contacts, and experience.
Our Approach
We approach each new assignment with open minds and, more importantly, open ears. Listening to our clients define their businesses, their products or their marketing challenges allow us to develop strategic communications appropriate to reach their core customer or prospect. Of all the arts we incorporate in the development of our work, the art of listening is, hands down, the most important. Asking insightful and thoughtful questions is a close second. Only after gathering this information do we start to develop an integrated marketing strategy.
Experience and Estimates
At Behar-Fingal we believe that experienced professionals, knowing all the pertinent details, should be able to accurately estimate the cost of a project. Our estimates are clear and on target. We don't "nickel and dime" our clients over reasonable changes in a project. We enjoy surprising our clients with the results of our ideas and talent — not our invoices.
The Principals
Harold Behar
Harold Behar’s expertise lies in the areas of identity creation and brand management. While he holds an AD in Visual Communication from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, he is mostly self taught, having wanted to be in advertising since he was 12 and discovered the breakthough Volkswagon campaign created by Doyle Dane Berbach. Growing up in northern New Jersey, in the shadow of New York City, there was certainly no shortage of media to study. His work is influenced by current trends in media culture as well as the fine arts. He is a newstand junkie and can be frequently found at the Borders periodicals section scanning magazines and journals to stay on top of new marketing strategies and ideas. In addition to the pro bono work created by Behar-Fingal, he has held positions on the boards of two non-profit organizations, American Youth Hostels Pittburgh and the Pittsburgh Mediation Center. He also served on the design committee of the South Side Local Development Company. He lives in a Pittsburgh four square with his wife and two sons in Mount Lebanon, PA.
Scott Fingal
Scott Fingal brings nearly 20 years of experience in targeted advertising, graphic design, and commercial printing to every project, which has saved clients thousands of dollars in unnecessary costs. A lifelong Pittsburgher and huge Steelers fan, Scott is a graduate of LaRoche College. He lives in the East End section of the city with his spouse, Anne, two dogs and recently acquired stray cat. When not working you’ll find him on the trails of Frick Park with his dogs or on his mountain bike, or at the South Hills Judo Club. A black belt in judo, Scott is an instructor at the Club and President of the Board of SHOJI, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides high quality judo instruction to underprivileged, at-risk youth in the Pittsburgh area. |
